Uh, that's the whole point of the frontpaging system, where we mods deliberately take on underrated songs for the front, and if a particularly phenomenal track from an audio portal regular comes up, it gets frontpaged too.

Haters and jerks may vote 0 on things, but that's all they can do. If the quality of your work is consistent and you put yourself forward in contests and other community things, you'll stand out eventually.

Idk why are you so pessimistic, but i somehow have the same thought as you...I have never been featured, but i don't think i deserve it tho :)
I'm pretty neutral about this, but if i see something unusual imma comment to this.

I think it all depends on whether your friends are deserving. Doublechindoge7 has Magix Music Maker Jam stuff -- which needs to be unpublished and we've already warned him about it, as it's against the rules...

Took a listen to Shapes. It was the first track that caught me in his submissions. Sounds pretty bland if you ask me... Unlax was better. Don't know if I'd call it 'killer,' especially against other tracks that have stood out on here.

Levelling up, you do by voting on flash (basically, movies and games). Unfortunately, the Staff are still working on enabling level-up by allowing you to vote on audio and art as well. For now, audio and art are completely out of the question.

When you let a new game or movie pass, it's called "saving," and when you vote 0 or 1 to delete it off the site, it's called "blamming." This ONLY applies to the Under Judgment section. Any new game or movie will need X amount of votes to either pass or be deleted forever. Vote more on these accurately and your status will increase from Civilian to something else.

Whistle points are obtained by flagging / reporting content that shouldn't be on NG. For instance, stolen songs, child pornography, anything hateful or illegal, or even flagging abusive reviews. Flag and report accurately, and your whistle will increase in shine from bronze to silver to gold, and then to Deity. Don't do so accurately and you'd actually get negative whistle points...
